Adoptive Emperors - page #2
Listed below are coins of the Roman Imperial period known as
the time of the adoptive emperors, which
lasted from 96 A.D. until A.D. 192. During this period while Marcus Aurelius
reigned both jointly with his adoptive brother Lucius Verus and alone after
Verus' death of a stroke in 169 A.D., the Romans were forced to fight many
campaigns to protect their borders. They would campaign against the Persians,
Celts, Germans, and the Sarmatians.
